“Doing MBA vital in today’s environment”

Acquisition of MBA degree from a good B-School would enable one to have better career prospects, better understanding of business situations, shifting career paths, development of soft skills, ability to work in teams, analytical skills, leading to problem solving abilities and KSA mode to ASK mode.

Delivering the keynote address at the seminar on “Emerge MBA” conducted jointly by Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad and The Hindu at Sudheer Reddy College of Engineering and Technology for Women, here on Friday, the IPE Dean Prof. M.L. Saikumar, said that students could not get good jobs with just basic degrees but an MBA degree would help them improve their career prospects.

Cut-throat competition

The best B-schools had right inputs, right faculty belonging to the right institution and choosing the right institution to do MBA was vital, he said,

He added that the students at present were living in a highly competitive environment and thus they should think big, start small and scale fast.

“Abhivyakti-the expression” institute director Vikramaditya Duggal said that youth today were confused in choosing the career and they should be brought out from confusion ito clarity in mind. “In our State, most students are opting for engineering. But students should know different shades of career”, he said.

P. Ranga Reddy, Regional General Manager, The Hindu, clarified that there was nothing like this was for girls and this was for boys.

Opportunities don’t happen always and they happen once or twice and therefore students must be prepared to grab them, he said and asked them to shed inhibitions and acquire English language skills.

The College administrator S. Machender and Prof. Shaheen, assistant professor of IPE, also spoke.
