All too often companies hire outside consultants to suggest ways for the company to operate more efficiently If companies were to spend more time listening to their own employees such consultants would be unnecessary

Auditing is vital for any organization looking to prosper in this highly competative market. Due to globalization, there are no boundaries or limitations, whole world is interconnected and act as big marketplace. To survive in this ardent competition, companies must iteratively find ways to improve it's efficacy. The prompt recommends companies to spend more time listening to thier own employees rather any hiring consultants to find new ways to operate efficiency. I strongly disagree with the given recommendation and argue that a disinterested outside consultation is required to efficiently audit and improve efficacy of the company. In my opinion, consultant are essential in the following ways.

First of all, outside consultants ensure a non-prejudiced auditing and come up with suggestion that would actually work. This is due to the fact that outside consultants are disinterested and focused on their work. For instance, if an employee suggests a way that is in his personal interest and not good for the company, this would result in inaccurate suggestions. This would lead to further complications when the steps are implemented. This illustrates that consultants are the only option for a disinterested anlaysis.

Further, these outside consultants are hired for a specific reason, that they are professionals and have experience in that domain. Also, they can articulate better justified suggestion using their domain knowledge and experience. These consultants are trainted particularly for this job whereas employees are not pundits in this regard. For example, these consults are qualified with degrees pertaining to their field of study and also equipped with industry standards such as ISO and 'Six sigma'. This illustrates how vital role consultants play in suggesting new ways to increase efficiency.

Moreover, these 3rd party consultations are more widely accepted as they adhere to the industry standards and proven. In fact, there is a list of top consultants that companies look forward to hire for tier auditing. Let’s consider the example of Deloitte, it is perhaps the most widely known organization that provides high class auditing and their suggestions are bound to be beneficial for the company. Their services are top notch and their track records confirms it. This example shows hiring consultants would benefit the company.

However, some opponents might argue that hiring outside consultants might incur in overhead expenses and risks. This argument might hold some merit, but in broader sense the expenses used for the services of consults would result in increasing efficiency and in turn profits in large commensuration. Therefore, we can conclude that it is always better to hire outside consultants to suggest ways to operate more efficiently over listening to employees.
