'The following is a memorandum from the business manager of a television station.
“Over the past year, our late-night news program has devoted increased time to national news and less time to weather and local news. The decrease in the advertising revenues could also be of the lesser number of viewers, which is inturn because of the change in the time devoted to local and weather news. Therefore we need to know, if the dip in the revenues is solely because of the content of the news and nothing else.
Hence, while the viewers choice is important and has to be attended to, the cause for the dip in the revenues has to be further investigated. If the cause for the dip in the revenues is because of the lesser time for local and weather news; since both the evidences are pointing towards the same direction, its in the best interest of the television station to restore the timings of the local and weather news.
