A part of success depends on type of goals one set for oneself, and the part of it depends on his/ her endeavours to achieve it. Definition of success is different from person to person. For some it might be inner satisfaction, for others it might be recognition, and for others it might be money etc…

A young director who creates a movie on a social topic, but unable to grab any awards or big revenue. Instead of that he got critics appreciation, and he got an opportunity to direct a movie under a big banner. For others he may not be successful, but for him he is, as it has given him inner satisfaction.

Goals are of two types: short term goals and long term goals. It is preferred that instead of focusing on one long term goal, one should focus on multiple short term goals. In this way he/ she can measure his progress easily and concentrate all his efforts towards one big goal. A person, who wants to be a renowned scientist, cannot become one in a day. He has to set the targets or goals for himself, and put all his efforts to achieve them.

Some people may argue that success can be measured in terms of bank balance, but I want to ask such people if tomorrow some scam is unearthed, and that individual personality with lots of money is a part of it, will you call him successful? No. Similarly in case of any adversity if a person is unable to help others, because he generated his wealth through inappropriate measures, then that day onwards his success is in vain.

Bill gates, Richard Garrison, etc. all were once street seller, but because of their determination, their will power, their ability to set the goals and achieve it, they are holding king’s throne today. Success is not one day activity, it has to be earned through constant efforts, proper goals.
