Woven baskets characterized by a particular distinctive pattern have previously been found only in the immediate vicinity of the prehistoric village of Palea and therefore were believed to have been made only by the Palean people. Recently, however, archaeologists discovered such a "Palean" basket in Lithos, an ancient village across the Brim River from Palea. The Brim River is very deep and broad, and so the ancient Paleans could have crossed it only by boat, and no Palean boats have been found. Thus it follows that the so-called Palean baskets were not uniquely Palean.

The writer states that a woven basket which was considered to be made by Palean people was found in Lithos. With negligible evidence, he concludes that these baskets were not the creation of the Palean people. However, there are various possibilities that should be considered and researched.

The writer says that archaeologist found only one woven basket in Lithos. If these baskets had been created in Lithos, the number of woven baskets should have been in large quantity. If the people of Lithos were producing it, they might have also been trading these baskets and hence it is logical to expect a large number of baskets. But recovery of just one basket suggests more like someone from Lithos may have bought from the Palean market. It cannot be stated for sure and hence this piece of evidence is insufficient.

The writer also mentions that the Brim river is very deep and broad and there was no evidence of any boats used by the Paleans. However, the writer does not mention if there were boats found in Lithos. The people from Lithos may have travelled to Paleans and bought the woven baskets. Besides there are also no statements saying that the Brim river was the only route connecting these two places. Hence this fact also proves insubstantial.

Another important factor to reach appropriate conclusion that should be analyzed is the woven basket found in Lithos. The writer does not say that the baskets have been properly matched. They may not have analyzed the patterns on the woven baskets. If the patterns are different, then the topic itself proves to be irrelevant. Hence, the most important fact to be checked before discussing about this topic is to match the patterns on the woven baskets.

Hence there are many flaws to the above statement. The topic under scrutiny may itself be unnecessary. The writer needs to buttress his statement with a lot of research and analysis.
