The graph shows the percentage of four different types of fuels in use between the years 1800 and 2000

The graph illustrates the proportion of four different varieties of fuel usage over a 200- year period, from 1800 to 2000. Overall, it is noticeable that the only fuel of choice in the year 1800 was wood but its usage declined over the remaining years. Coal came to the known after a year and it gained popularity. Oil and gas were discovered after 1900.

Looking at the diagram, it can be seen that, the only fuel available in the year 1800 was wood and 100% of its usage was achieved. This stood as the greatest percentage comparatively. When the use of coal evolved, some people who were using wood shifted to its use resulting in the decline in the percentage of wood consumption in the rest of the years and faded completely in 2000.

On the other hand, patronage of coal rocketed up over a 100-year period to 70% in 1900. This also recorded the second greatest usage for the period but deteriorated subsequently over the last 100 years to 40%.

After the discovery of oil and gas, the trends for their usage remained similar even though oil use was a bit higher than gas. At the end of the year the choice of coal, oil and gas by the people became balanced at 40%.
