Question-This chart shows the relative size of populations of countries of the European Union in both 1998 and 2007.

The pie charts compare the population of countries in the Europe during the year 1998 and 2007.
The most striking point of the graph is that, during both the years Germany was the most populated country in Europe.
A glance at the chart shows that, there was a growth in population over the nine years. There was massive increase in population of the Spain. During the year 1998, the population of Spain was8.3%, while this rose to 9% in 2007. Similarly, France, UK, Italy and all the other 21 European countries population enlarged from 12.5%, 12.2%, 11.8% and 29.4% in 1998 to 12.8%, 12.3%, 11.9% and 29.7% in the year 2007.
The graph also shows that, some countries also witnessed a decrease in population. Germany and Poland fell from 17.1% and 8% in 1998 to 16.6% and 7.7 % respectively in the year 2007.
To sum up, even though some countries showed a decrease in population, overall European countries had a growth in population.
