Parents and teachers make many rules for children to encourage good behaviour and to protect them from danger. However, children would benefit from fewer rules and greater freedom.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, the children’s rules are tangibly made by parents and teachers to trigger them behave in a well-manner and avoid danger. I strongly agree that children would benefit from having fewer rules. Then, I also agree that the drawback might be encountered by the children who are in greater freedom.

In Indonesia, many rules considerably lead the children to be passive and more frightened. This is because of their limitation to behave expressively. Then, children might not want to try the new challenge. The new one is seemingly in an uncomfortable zone. This would be difficult to reach whether the limitation to move forward is still in their inner personality. Moreover, their freedom to behave is always under surveillance of parents and teachers. As a result, fewer rules might make children to be brave and flexible trying the new challenge, which might be faced in the fluctuation of daily life.

On contrary, the rules are really needed to children because they are not mature enough. They need guidance to prepare their readiness to the future demands when they are mature. In addition, many rules, currently they are obeying to, might make them living safer, more comfortable, and enjoyable. By having the more rules, the hindered risks have been shrunk in order to keep staying in those kinds of environments.

In conclusion, this is presumably true that many rules would make the children to be more afraid and inactive. However, many rules are also needed by the children due to their immature. Parents and teachers should reveal what rules to follow, not to treat them like in a jail. Urgently, children need freedom space, a better special place, to improve their own way to behave better.
