The table reveals the national expenditure on different kinds of consumption in five countries in 2002. It is clearly seen that Turkey had highest percentage consumption in food, drink, tobacco by 32.14%) and leisure, education activity by 4.35%. On the other hand, Italy was the highest consumer in clothing, footwear by 9%.

In food, drink, tobacco, the second highest consumer was Ireland around 28.91%. This figure approximately two times higher when compared with Italy and Sweden which were 16.36% and 15.77%, respectively. Looking forward to clothing and footwear consumption, the percentage of each country was 7% in average. Italy was the biggest consumer by 9% while the smallest was Sweden by 5.4%. In the last item, leisure and education. The figure approximately was 3% in average and Turkey was the biggest consumer on it. It could be said that Turkey was really concerned in education at that time. Italy spent around 3.2% which looked similar with Sweden. Whereas, Ireland and Spain spent 2.21% and 1.98%, respectively.

To sum up, in 2002, Turkey was the biggest consumer in food, drink, tobacco and education, leisure. While in clothing and footwear item, Italy had the highest percentage.
