The table shows the date of income of ABC company over the period from 1996 to 2000. It displays figures of net sales,costs and expenses,gross income,income taxes and net income. Costs and expenses are further divided into cost of sales,selling expense.administrative expense and engineering expense.

As we can see from the table, the net sales is increasing all the way from $63,386,000 in 1996 to $100,943,000 in 2000.While the rising rate of costs and expenses is faster than the net sales,as a result, the gross income went up fluctuately during this time and from $2,652,000 in 1996 to the peak at $4,093,00 in 1998,then dropped at $2,884,000 in 2000.Meanwhile, income taxes and net income have the same change trend as the gross income,and the net income was %1,571,000 in 1996,then it reached the highest point at $2,463,000 with a sharp increase of 56 percent in 1998, but a rapid drop at $1,630,000,around decease of 31 percent in 2000.
