The table shows sources of student income over a ten-year period in the United Kingdom. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.

The table provides data regarding to the percentages of income that below 26-year-old students could obtain from different origins during a ten-year period from 1988 to 1998 in the United Kingdom.

Even though the data of the student loan isn't represented in 1988/89, there was a dramatic rise from 8% in 1992/93 to 14% in 1995/96. There was also a sharp growth in earnings, which stood at 6% in 1988/89, but reached the peak at 14% in 1995/96, then fell slightly by 2% in 1998/99.

On the other hand, the parental contribution fell steeply from 32% in 1988/89. At the same time, grant went down by 24% from 38% in 1988/89 to 14% in 1998/99.

Overall, the annual income per student went up gradually from 4,395 pounds in 1988/89 to 5,575 pounds in 1998/99, and there was a shift from being dependent to independent of the students at that period.
