It is true that many workers doing “telecommuting way” to reach efficiency and effectivity in their jobs: sending documents via email, have a meeting via video chat, and others in this decade. While some people argue that telecommuting becomes more popular activity in this world, I trust that only certain people can be influenced by this trend.
The modernity that envolves well, provokes the changing of human behavioural. The employees, who use high technology utilities, automatically will feel the difference. They can use frequent gadgets to open some application programs that can help them do their jobs from home. Some professions can obtain the advantage from it, such as office workers, bussiness executives, artists, for example the comicus who stays in Indonesia, just need to scan his artworks and send them by email to DC Comics Company in USA. He does not need to accross the continent just to meet his clients.
However, the advancement of technology just can be satisfied some group of people. There are some areas and countries in this world that still stand in life without technology. Absolutely, the telecommuting way could not be practiced in those outlying areas. Also, telecommuting is not suitable for some professions which are they cannot do their job if they do not come to the work place, such as nurse in the hospital, they have to check the patient’s condition, temperature, and blood pressure by attending in patient’s room. Telecommuting is impossible for that profecy and situation. Also, some profecions that uncommon to use modern tools are impossible to practice telecommuting way, such as the mechanic, porter, and security.
As a result, telecommuting, as an inovation that brings easier way for the society, can change and affect only for a part of the world’s societies, in this decades.
