The table describes about data in modes of travel in England between 1985 and 2000. The data shows average distance in miles per person per year travelled, by the travel mode.
The most striking feature from the table is people always chose car as the primary travel mode between 1985 and 2000. The average distance was increased around a third from 1985 to 2000. The next travel mode that shows significant incerased was long distance bus, it was increased more than around twice in 2000. While, the local bus was decreased around a half from 1985 to 2000. The other travel mode that did not shows significant changes was walking, bicycle, and train, they were stable. Furthermore, the travel mode that shows significant changes was taxi, it was increased more than 300% between 1985 and 2000.
All in all, the data on the table suggest, that overall modes of travel between 1985 and 2000 was increased from 4740 to 6475 miles.
