The charts represent the amount of Japanese tourists trips to overseas over decade, from 1985 to 1995, and Australia's portion of the Japanese travellers on demand. The data of Japanese tourists are calculated in millions and the frequents of visiting Australia are measured by percentage.

overall, when the figure of the traveller grew up to around a million, the number of Japanese visitor to Australia increase slightly 1%, but in the middle of decade and the end, the frequent of visitors faced in reverse. In 1989, the number of tourists rose approximately a million, from over 8 million to near 10 million, but the travellers to Australia decreased 1%, from around 5% in 1988 to near 4% in 1989. Furthermore, at the last decade, the proportion of Japanese visitors to Australia remained steady up to 6%, even though, the amount of traveller went to abroad gradually evolved up to a million from 1993 to 1995.
