The first chart below shows the results of a survey which sampled a cross-section of 100,000 people asking if they travelled abroad and why they travelled for the period 1994-98. The second chart shows their destinations over the same period.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.

The first table below shows the total number of visits overseas by UK residents in the year 1994 to 1998. It shows that UK residents goes abroad for holiday, business trips, to visit family and friends and other reasons.

A highest total of UK residents, who went overseas were recorded in the year 1998 (with a total of 28,828). It shows that reason of travel is to go on a holiday with family and friends.

The second graph chart shows the destination that UK resident commonly visited. Most of the residents went to travel to Western Europe. Some went to other parts of the world. A few portion travelled to North America.

Overall, there is a total of 28,828 English tourist who travelled overseas in the year 1998. A large volume of tourist went to explore the cities of Western Europe for holiday. A lowest number of tourist were recorded in the year 1995 having a total of 21,610. North America is the least visited destination of UK resident.
