The line graph illustrates the amount of energy consumed in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.
Overall, the consumption of fossil fuels as Petrol and Oil, Natural Gas outweighed that of renewable sources as Nuclear, Solar/Wind and Hydropower.
To begin with, Petrol and Oil was and will be by far the most consumed. Prior to slight fluctuations over 10 years, its consumption stood at around 35 q.u in 1980. Since then, the amount of petrol and oil has gone up considerably and is predicted to keep its trend until 2030, hitting roughly 50 q.u.
Coal and natural gas have been almost the same in consumption until 2015. However, it is predicted that the consumption of natural gas will level off from 2015 to 2030, while there will be a gradual increase in the amount of consumed coal from 25 q.u to over 30 q.u.
Turning to the remaining resources, the consumptions of Nuclear and Solar/Wind have been and will be constantly on the growth, but their changes are negligible/trivial through the years. Meanwhile, there has been slightly ups and downs in consumption of Hydropower until 2010, but it is expected to remain stable until 2030.
