The graph below shows the amount of money spent on books in Germany, France, Italy and Austria between 1995 and 2005.

The line graph compares the expenditures on books in Germany, France, Italy and Austria from 1995 to 2005.

It is clear that citizens in Germany were the biggest spenders on books however, the four countries all were similar in terms of an upward trend.

In 1990, Exactly 80 million was spent for books in Germany as opposed to 30 million of Italy and the amounts of money used for books in France and Austria were comparatively equal which stood at around 55 milion dollars. Between 1999 and 2003, although a slight decrease could be observed in Germany’s expenture on books, that of Italy increased unremarkably and achieved a stability.

The four contries all peaked in 2005 despite their unramarkable changes, Germany’s expenditure on books was about 100 million which was nearly twice as much as that of Italy. However, France and Austria’s figures remained the same at only around 60 million in spite of some minor rises.
