The presented graphs illustrate how many males and females of different age groups work in full and part-time jobs in Australia for periods 1973 and 1993.
Overall, it can be seen that group of eldest people work least.
Looking at men, it is obvious that the percentage of full-time males decreased over two decades for 10-20% in all age groups. In contrast, the number of part-time males rose for around 5% in all age categories, aside from 15-19 aged men, where the figure jumped for about 3 times from 7% to 21%.
Focusing on women, it is clear that in general the number of women in both full-time and part-time jobs went up over the given period. For example, if in 1973 the percentages for part-time females and full-time females in 35-39 age group were 20% and 30% respectively, the figure was 33% for part-time and 35% for full-time women in 1993. However, the change of number of 15-19 aged women working in full-time job is an exception. over 20 years the figure plummeted from 50% to 20%.
