The table shows data of average distance in miles travelled per person per year between 1985 and 2000 by eight different types of transport in England.
In 1985, people rarely chose taxi to travel so it's the lowest with only 13 people, the most preferred mode of travel is by car with 3199 people. The top position stays the same in 2000, rose to 4806 people, the taxi escaped the lowest in rank by increased 29 more people and the least preferred transportation has been replaced with bicycle, dropped from 51 to 41 people. Bicycle is one of the three mode of travel which decreased in 2000, the others are walking and espeacially local bus has the most dramatically fall in number contrast to the long distance bus. People tend to choose others transportation which lead to increase in others mode of travel and the biggest change in the table is the increase of usage in taxi which is triple in the 2000.
It is clear that there was an increase in overall travelling in England from 1985 to 2000.
