Summarize the point made in the lecture making sure explaining how they oppose points made in the passage

Here, the passage and the lecture is about altruism. Passage has stated some positive points of altruists. Whereas, the lecture gives contradicting points. Both the lecture and passage consists their own reasoning for the explanation of points stated.

First, the lecturer has an argument for the meerkat, which is a mammal and one of them works as to guard the other meerkats. Talking about meerkats, the lecturer argues that actually the guardian does the work after having the food so it does not have to be hungry in that case. In addition, the lecturer also told that when any predator attacks then the guard is at the lowest risk than any other meerkat of that group. The reasoning he gave was about the alarm that guard has to make when predator attacks, which is sometimes confusing for the other meerkats.

Second, the point stated int the passage was about human being selflessly donating their own kidney to any of their relatives or an unknown person, an act of altuism. On the contrary, the lecturer argues that the human donating his/her own kidney gets many non-materialistic awards such as appreciation from the society, self worth etc. So by the reasoning provided by the lecturer it does not remain a totally selfless act.

In conlcusion, the reasoning provided by the passage and the lecture are opposite of each other stating the altruism behaviour by animals and humans in a different way. The examples of meerkat as an animal and human for the kidney donation is stated to give reasoning.
