Plastic bags
The lecturer is in favour the opinion concerning what article offered.
In the article it is stated, that across United States all groceries provide costumers with plastic bags. Despite the fact, that they cost not much, using them is connected to a huge amount of money for groceries. Furthermore, they bring a lot of damage. Reusable bags will reduce environmental waste and decrease usage of petroleum, that is main component in plastic bags.
The lecturer finds deeper and hiding results. The first argument to take into account is, that used plastic bags are thrown into the land or land field. It can cause serious damages to both, environment and animals. Moreover, it can take years plastic bag to decompose. Duration varies from 7 year to 1000 in rarely cases. Another key point he mentions is, that grocery stores use plastic bags daily, that causes increased fees. Moreover, costumers who are given 3-4 plastic bags at stores, do not use them in the future and throw majority. The most persuasive argument is, that plastic bags are composed with petroleum, that is not renewable source. By using reusable plastic bags, will be save a lot of petroleum. Lecturer states, that 1.6 billion petroleum is used to produce 360 billion plastic bags. Furthermore, he mentions, that this change will save millions of dollars.
All in all, by the points of view we can see that there are mainly disadvantages in using plastic bags.We can agree, that both article and lecturer take us to the decision, that by replacing plastic bags, environment will become more protected and huge amount of non-renewable source will be saved.
