TPO-12 - Integrated Writing Task Jane Austen (1775-1817) is one of the most famous of all English novelists, and today her novels are more popular than ever, with several recently adapted as Hollywood movies. But we do not have many records of what she lo

The article states that the portrait of a teenage girl which is professionally painted was a Jane Austen's portrait however, professor refutes all the claims made by the author. Professor casts doubt on the believability of painting that, the subject of a painting was really a Jane Austen.

Firstly, Jane Austen's family claimed that the portrait was of Jane Austen after many years when she was dead.Professor questioned this hypothesis by saying that it was impossible to believe on her extended family members who hardly saw her when she was younger.

Secondly, passage states that the face in the portrait more a like her sister-cassandra sketch which shows adult Austen. The resemblance in the face features shows that the portrait was a younger Jane Austen. Although, professor asserts that Jane Austen's family was large and it may be possible that the young girl may be her relative. It may happened that the young girl's portrait may be her extended family member's portrait, may be her distant niece.

Lastly, an author mentioned the evidence of society portrait painter- Ozias Humphrey. Though it was said that the painting was done by Humphrey at the same age when Jane Austen was a younger girl but, professor disprove this prediction. The stamp at the back of the painting shows that the Humphrey did not sell his painting early in the England when Jane Austen was a younger girl however, she was elder when the actually painting was sold by Humphrey.

In conclusion, professor questioned all the claims made by the author by giving reasonable proofs.
