Saving the endangered turtles with turtle excluder device (TED) which is equipped into the shrimp-fishing boats is argument topic among supporters and opponents. The function of TED is that whenever turtles get caught in the nets, TEDs help them to flee or get out from it and rise to surface of the ocean to breath. In three aspects, passage and the professor discuss about reason of criticism.

The initial argument in the passage is about rarely occurrence of turtles trap event However, professor disagree with this idea because of the cumulative number of shrimpers are so high-For example we have just 5000 shrimper in the US- in compare of number of endanger turtles. If we assume just one turtle trap per boat every month, the number is dramatically is high for these species.

The next idea is about the time limit method which shrimpers allowed to keep their nets underwater. In the passage mentioned that this method allow turtles to get air and give shrimpers time to free them. On the other hand, professor notice about the disadvantage of poor monitoring system method because of lack of government representatives. In other word, checking installed TED in boats in the departure points are more easily for government than the mentioned method.

Eventually, the last text critics about TEDs are about inefficiency equipment for larger species of sea turtles. In contrast, professors indicate that for the currently TEDs is proper for these areas and they can easily modify it and produce for larger TED for loggerhead and leather-back turtles in future to help them release themselves from the nets.
