The article states that the coin that discovered in Main city is fake and not came by European explorers and provides three reasons of support. Conversely, the professor states that the silver coin is not fake and represents genuine pieces of historical evidence that came by European explorers. And she refutes each of the author's reasons.

First, the reading avers that the location where the coin discovered is located very far from other sites documenting a Norse presence in North America. The professor refutes this point by explaining that there are other objects that have been found in the American cite that came from far away places. Since the Native American travel great distances to obtain objects, it could have been reached to the Norse settlements and brought the coin silver.

Second, the article claims that no other coins found ar the Canadian sites that were inhabited by the Norse, so the coin has no real connection with the settlements. The professor, on the other hand, states that no other coins discovered deos not necessary mean there is no relation. For the reasons that teh Norse did not inhabited the area permanently, they went back to Europe. So, they backed with them all valuable items, including the silver coins. She concludes that when the Norse came at first to North America, they brought the silver coins, but when they returned with them when they got back to Europe.

Third, the reading posits that the silver coin would most likely be useless, since it did not recognize by the North Americans. However, the professor refutes this point by saying that this is true point. But, the Norse brought silver coins to the North AMerica because of its value. In addition to, its nice and very beauty appealing, therefore, they could use it for trading with other items. For example, these silver coins could be traded with jewelries and nickels. ALso, the professor adds that since the North American were interested in valuable staff, they could traded with their items to get it.
