Keio University said Tuesday it will launch an all-English autumn enrollment course in its faculty of economics, starting in September 2016.

The university will measure the academic ability of applicants in and outside Japan using scores from internationally recognized college admission exams, such as International Baccalaureate and Scholastic Assessment Test, instead of conducting its own written exam.

English ability will be evaluated from scores of the Test of English as a Foreign Language, or TOEFL, and other internationally recognized tests.

The course will accept some 100 students every academic year that starts in September. Applications will be accepted more than twice between autumn and spring.

The course will offer all the lessons, including liberal arts and seminars, in English and provide online distance learning programs with universities overseas.
