173: It is sometimes said that borrowing money from a friend can harm or damage the friendship. Do you agree or not?

Although most people think that friends should be relaxed with and help each other especially with the problems and dilemmas, I believe from my experience that borrowing money or even other thing might hurt the relationship with a friend. Borrowing money from a friend might cause to destroy the mutual trust between them. In addition, it can make the relationship turn into an ordinary relation.

The first reason about the statement in which borrowing money can hurt the relationship is that it makes two friends lose their confidence in each other. In fact, when somebody wants to ask her friend for money their relation might be in danger because of the issues which happen after. So, after these issues they won’t trust each other again like before that. For example, when I was a university student, I could find a likely friend. We were with each other in both of the class and dormitory. We had lots of common with each other. But, the problem between us was that she never spent money when we wanted to have pleasure time on the streets, in the recreation centers, or even when she wanted buy something for her. Worse of that, she did not return that money after. She seemed so that she would forget it. She was borrowing money from me all the time without trying to give back it. Over time, I could not trust her anymore and our relationship because of this issue were disrupted. Therefore, by this experience, I think that the losses of trust might be the reason that I think borrowing money from a friend is not a good idea.

Second, borrowing money might make the relationship convert into an ordinary one. Friends expect when they ask something like money from their friends, they surely response to their requisition, otherwise their relationship will be unfriendly, over time. As an instance, I remember, two years age, one of my best friends in the university wanted some money which was too much on the time for me and I had to reject her demand. Then, I realized that she would not behave with me like before and our relation turned into saying hi in the morning in the class and good by while leaving. Therefore, we might lose our friends when they ask something and we cannot afford it.

The way I see it, it is not a good idea to borrow too much money from friends. We might lose our trust and, however, we might not be like before with our friends during the subjects which occur.
