Most difficult aspects of learning new language

Nowadays, learning a new language is a necessary all around the world. Hence, it is important for most of the students to learn second language, especially English. I believe, learning a new language might be difficult cause language and cultures are related together, therefor, being familiar with the lots of things such as culture is necessary to learn a new language completely.

First of all, learning vocabulary is one of the most important issue. After analyzing a normal essay, it turned out that the essay consist of 50 word which is not common, thereby, without vocabulary, there is nothing to learn. So, to talk smoothly, people need to know something around 3500 words. On the other hand, it is very common that a word can have several meanings. For example, the word “set” have 60 meanings as noun and 128 meanings as verb in English. Unfortunately, some of them consist wide range of meanings, consequently, bad usage can completely change the whole meaning.

Furthermore, most of the languages are spoken in different accents. For example, in Persian, two people who know Persian as their mother tongue might have some problem talking together. However, all of them can understand formal accent of Persian language. To clarify, when somebody learned a language, he might just be able to understand formal version like watching TV news or reading newspapers. Nevertheless, it could be very hard to talk with people in streets.

Lastly, if a person knows all the words meaning and being familiar with accents, he might still have some issues. As I mentioned before, no one can say that languages and cultures are independent from each other. For example, consider a sentence that is logically correct and acceptable in a language but not appropriate in that language’s culture. Therefore, using that sentence could be ridicules.

In summary, I believe some factors are important to learn a new language such as learning vocabulary, understand various accents, and, being familiar with the cultures. However, motivation can remove all the obstacles.
