A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.

Form the beginning of industrialization, more and more companies exerted around us. From the newspaper, I heard a company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near our community. Some people say it is a disaster if a factory is built behind our community, but others think it is a good thing because we all can benefit from it.

There are many advantages if a factory is built near our community. First of all, the factory will bring us a lot of working opportunities. This is very helpful for those people living in our community because so many people are unemployed here and thus we need not worry about how to make a living. Furthermore, it is very helpful for the economical developing around our community. If the company runs well, other investor will come here and construct other firms here. As time going on, more and more people come here and invest here. Thirdly, more and more people come here. They will consume plenty of vegetable, fruit and others. So the farmers around here need not go to downtown to sell their produces. Maybe they can sell all kind of things at a great price.

On the other hand, there are a few disadvantages too. For example, the factory may bring us some environment problems, such as air pollution, water pollution or radiation, which are very harmful to people who live here. At the same time more and more people come here, maybe not every one can find a job. So these people will be a big problem for people’s security.

As far as I am concerned, I think I will support the factory. I think the advantages one factory brings us are much more than those disadvantages it brings. Meanwhile if we take proper actions we can avoid those disadvantages. For example, we have laws which help to protect us from pollution and security problems.
