Wind power

Essay topics:

Wind power

The reading and lesson discuss the topic of wind power. The professor cast doubt on the disadvantages of wind power as they are presented in reading passage.

To begin with, the professor explain that most of the migration birds are being killed by winter season, high buildings and the pollution by cars and other vehicles. Recent research in Denmark has proved that there are no wind turbines in the way of migration of the birds. Most of these turbines are near to off shore, where birds will not go. This directly challenges the assertion in reading passage that this wind turbines are causing major birds to die.

In addition to that, the lecture explains that wind turbines occupy little space on the ground and we can also do other possible things like agriculture and grazing in those areas. This strongly opposes the reading, which states that turbines occupy more land to
establish.

More over, the lecture explains that, most of the wind turbines are located in isolated and extreme winded areas. Mostly those are the areas where no people can live as they don't have any visual impact on people. This appears to be contradiction to the information stated in reading which asserts that giant turbines have negative visual impact on people who live surrounding them.

By raising these points, professor cast doubt on the statements in reading.
