TPO-04 - Integrated Writing Task Endotherms are animals such as modern birds and mammals that keep their body temperatures constant. For instance, humans are endotherms and maintain an internal temperature of 37°C, no matter whether the environment is wa

The reading and the lecture are both about the dinosaurs.Whereas the author of the reading states that dinosaurs were endothermic reptiles, the lecture suggests that dinosaurs were not endothermic reptiles.
The lecture casts doubt on the pain point made in the reading by providing three reasons.

First of all, according to the reading, fossils found in the polar region is a first evidence that dinosaurs were endothermic. For example, only those animal that maintain the body temperature with its surrounding can be lived in such cold regions.
However, the lecture disputes this point.
He says that finding fossils cannot be the evidence that they were endothermic as they might have migrated during the cold season to next regions.

Secondly, the reading states that the leg position under the body indicate that there is a connection between position of leg with the movement of the leg which is a feature of the endothermic animals. For an instance, leg position under the body helps animals for physical activity like running which is adapted by most of the mammals who were endothermic.
Nevertheless, the lecture refutes this argument.
He argues that position of the leg under the body does not mean they were high energy endothermic. As they were positioned to support the heavy weight of the dinosaurs.

Finally, the reading claims that presence of Haversian canals in bone is a strong indicator that dinosaurs is endothermic. For example, presence of the canals in bone structure allow living organism to grow quickly and rapid body growth.
on the other hand, the lecture believe that haversian canal with a growth ring symbolize that dinosaurs were not endothermic. He thinks that having a growth ring in the bone stops the growth of the body.
