TPO-15 - Integrated Writing Task The cane toad is a large (1.8 kg) amphibian species native to Central and South America. It was deliberately introduced to Australia in 1935 with the expectation that it would protect farmers' crops by eating harmful insec

The article states that their are several majors proposed to stop the spread of the cane toad in austrelia. However, the author claims that it is difficult to get rid of toads and the proposed measures can be unsuccessful and refutes all the authors reasons mention in the article.

First, The article states that a way use to prevent toad would be to build national fence. The speaker opposes the point by saying that it would not be an effective approach to prevent toads. The speaker states that the national fence are build near the streams where the water flows. due to flow, the toads would not be affected much and only few toads could be prevented.

Second, The reading posits that the toads could captured and destroyed by volunteers. The speaker does not sound it convincing and he states that the volunteers are untrained about the toad prevention. due to their lack of knowledge, they can harm the other species like frog present in water streams.

Third, The article says that researchers are developing disease-causing virus to control toad population. Again, The speaker disagrees with the point by saying that it may cause economical disasters. he gives an example of the situation created bfore in southa america abot the same issue and the infection virus was developed in that area.

To sum up, The author and speaker holds conflicting views about prevention of toad. it is clear that they will have trouble finding common ground on the given issue.
