Many people think that education in today’s world has become an integral part of our society and education is the main provider of individual opportunity in our society. They think that just as property and money were the keys to success in past years, in present world the key to success is education. But some people contrast with these words. They think that education is not as important as property and money. They believe that having enough of property and money is like achieving success in life. They feel education is not important in anybody’s life. I agree with the former group of people and refute the latter one. I undoubtedly believe that in today’s advanced world education is the integral part of the society. Without education, a man stands nowhere in this well developed world and in this technological era. Therefore, I agree that a key to success today is to have education.

Firstly, I feel that today education is the most precious jewel in the society. Education plays a major role in each person’s life. Without education a man’s life is ruined. Today, the world has gone so far beyond imagination that, to do any kind of work, a basic knowledge about that is a must. And to have that basic knowledge, one has to gain a minimum level of education. I believe in basic level of education, but not of having degrees besides your name. Today, property and money are not considered the key to success. It is the education which makes a man stand in this world. For instance, in the current world one has to have the knowledge of what is going on around him/her. Even a homemaker is supposed to have basic education so that she can take care of the accounts of her household. Another example regarding this is that a farmer has to have minimum knowledge of the interest rates and how a loan has to be clear. Without proper education, his landlords could cheat him. Hence, in today’s world, basic education is a key to a man’s success.

Secondly, as many of them think that education is not as important as having property and money. I completely disagree with this. For example, if a man is very rich, he has lots of money and many lands and property. But, if he does not have minimum knowledge of how that money is to be utilized, then no sooner he will lose all his money. Thus, education is far more important than property and money. In the present world, education provides lots of opportunities. There are many fields in which one can educate oneself based on his passion and talent. Moreover, present world is the world of technology. One should have basic education to deal with simple household works. For instance, mobile has become the most common thing today. Each person is having a mobile with him/her. Mobile is very helpful in emergency cases and when important news is to be passed on. But this needs a basic knowledge of using the mobile phone. And that basic knowledge can be achieved with the help of education. Hence, education plays major role in the society.

In conclusion, while there are many points to be made on both sides of the statement, I would agree with the one I stated. With the help of examples and reasons, I completely agree with the statement that education has become the main provider of individual opportunity in our society and education is the key to success.
