Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

In the era of high technologies, everyone can easily has a super computer with advanced technologies and softwares. As the consequence, people rely more and more on technology to solve problems. For example, we use formulas in excel to summarize big data and give out the trend from which our conclusion is drawn. Many people, including myself, have forgot how to draw a beautiful graph without a software, However, I do disagree with the idea that the technology precludes the creativity that marks human species.

Firstly, technology frees human beings from mundane tasks, e.g., calculations or organizing data, and saves us the precious time for the more challenging and complex problems. For instance, with Microsoft Excel, I can now have more time to analyze my results from data rather than arranging and summarize the data. The using of technology may make our bodies lazier but require our brains to work more - we constantly need to update with the new software, news and while using a software, we continuously ask ourselves which software or function of a particular software we need to used to achieve best result. In fact, the problems that have arise alongside with the development of technology (pollution, political unrest in oil-producing nations) actually call for more creative thinking, not less.

Secondly, technology have empowered us to successfully tackle the otherwise overwhelming problems - technology connect people at a distance through cell phone, internet, modern means of transportation so that people from diversified background can come together in a team to think about dilemma issues and it is technology that are able do analyze tremendous amount of data that over exceed our best individuals. It is thanks to technology that give impetus to the any breakthroughs in sciences. For examples, we witnessed the development of super-computer that allowed us to finish sequencing the first human sequence ever in 2003. We also witnessed how important search engines like Google have been improving our study experience and progress in unprecedented manner. It is undoubted that the more advanced the technology is, the more human beings need to study.

To be about to move forward, we should and have to reply on the technology. I still remember a quote I heard from a TED talk " to win the game, you need to race with the machines not race against them". As long as a person remember to "race with the machine" not let the race to the machine itself, his or her ability to think by him- or herself would not deteriorate. We no need to turn in the Luddite attitude for new things, but rather embrace a hopeful posture to the possibility that technology open new avenues for human imagination.

As a conclusion, technology itself is not what deteriorates people's ability to think by themselves but how it was used. Indeed, using of technology enhance our ability to tackle the problem, not worsen it. We need to familiar with technology to be able to tackle more complex and challenging problems but do not overuse these advances and loss your grip to these advances - be reliance not dependence on technology.
