At the outset, there are countless reasons why the world should be joined to preserve the nature. One of the important characteristics of the environmental degradation is that, it affects all mankind on a global scale without regard to any particular country, region or race. The whole world is the stakeholder and thus everyone has to take the risk. For instance, the United States of America contains 4% of the world’s population but produces about 25% of all carbon dioxide, which is the highest produced by any country. This amount will obviously increase the process of ozone depletion and global warming, and this in turn will affect the whole world, not the US alone.

Moreover, when the countries get united on environmental issues the damage can be controlled on a massive scale, and the degradation can be kept under check. The last few decades have seen many treaties, conventions and protocols for the cause of global environmental protection. To name a few: Kyoto protocol, Global warming central and so on. It is very interesting to learn that after Kyoto protocol, world carbon dioxide emission has reduced significantly. People throughout the world have taken many initiatives to cut down their carbon footprint and this has paid results. Only when developed nations extend their hands to developing countries, that economic prosperity and safe environment is possible as both are interdependent.

To sum up, environmental pollution whether instigated by one country or not, is going to affect the world as a whole. Thus, it is only pragmatic for the nations to come together to save our earth.
