Ask what work you would be expected to do

Write at least 150 words.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for the weekend job at your hotel, as advertised in ‘Times of London’ on 30th November. I am a 21 years old student studying in the last year of Hotel Management at Lincoln College in the town and, therefore, a weekend job is ideal for me.

I find myself competent enough for this job as I have studied the technicalities of Hotel Management and I also have hands on experience from my previous jobs at hotels. I am a courteous, dedicated and a sociable person, and have worked around-the-clock to provide superior services to the hotel guests. I was also involved in other hotel management tasks like material procurement and handling petty cash.

What tasks are involved in this job? Is there something similar for me or perhaps I need training? I am willing to attend training, if required. I do hope you will be interested in my application.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,

Rosalin Sharma
