The bar chart demonstrates the proportion of different categories of sports which played by New Zealand’s people in each gender in 2002.
Overall, it seem evident that the boys was more active than girls in play sports except for Athletics, Netball and Swimming. However, in some kinds of sport, the number of women participating in were higher such as: Athletics, Netball and Swimming. the biggest proportion gap belongs to netball.
In 2002, the percentage of female which joined in cricket was the lowest about 1 %, similar percentage of male playing netball. In addition , playing cricket and marital art in men was a round 12%, 10% respectively. It was apparent that the New Zealand wasn’t interested in athletics, all under 5 percent. In playing baseball and tennis, the percentage of boys was more than girls about 3%.
Among girls, 25% played netball and slightly lower percentage-22%- enjoyed swimming . While only 5% of women took part in playing football, less than 25% of men . In others sport, the figure of boys was significantly higher than girls approximately 10%.
