The pie chart illustrates the proportions of 3 types of nutrients ( Sodium, Saturated fats and Added Sugar), contained in common meals of American, which may cause several medical problems if being used excessively.
Overall, the people in the USA mostly used Sodium and Saturated fats in their dinner, while Added sugars usually eaten in Snacks. Breakfast was the meal that people consumed the least these kinds of nutrients.
In terms of Sodium and Saturated fat, by far the greatest consumption was to be found in Dinner, namely 43% and 37% respectively. It was followed by Lunch, which accounted for nearly 30% of Sodium and Saturated fat each. Only 14% Sodium was eaten in Snacks and Breakfast, while the figure for Saturated was slightly higher, over 20% in Snacks and 16% in Breakfast.
Snacks were the meal that contained the highest percentage of Added Sugar, with 42%, which was nearly doubled than that of Dinner. Breakfast and Lunch had similar levels of consumption, ranging from 15 to 20%.
