The charts depict a range of after-class activities in which the U.K bachelors and postgraduates participated in 2008.
Overall, most of students in U.K with no full-time work were more likely to opt for further study after school rather than voluntary jobs. Furthermore, it is evident that higher-learners shared the same pattern whereas being a part-timer proved to be a rational alternative for extra learning.
In comparison with the number of graduates undertaking further study, which was 29665, there were only 3500 volunteers who are willing to enroll for voluntary chores. Besides, 17735 bachelors had part-time work while 16235 others were unemployed, which was ten-fold higher than that of postgraduate students.
Regarding postgraduates, further study was still the most favorable option with 2725 students, followed by part-time work with 2535. In contrast, being a volunteer got little to none attention with only 345 proponents. Unemployment among postgraduates made up for nearly haft of those doing further study, which was 1625.
