The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparison where relevant.

Given are the first chart comparing the average proportion of energy consumption in Australian households categorized according to activities, and the second chart demonstrating the amount of greenhouse gas released by these activities.
As illustrated in the charts, heating generally consumes by far the largest amount of energy and plays a major role in contributing greenhouse gas emissions. Meanwhile, cooling and lighting share minimum proportions in both categories.
Specifically, Australian residents averagely allocate a massive three-quarters of energy solely for heating purpose, with 30% exclusively for water heating. The remaining of nearly 25% of energy is shared by other purposes. Particularly, the energy used for refrigeration accounts for 7%, whereas cooling and lighting activities take up merely 2% and 4% respectively, which are negligible percentages. 15% of energy is consumed by other household appliances.
Apart from being the main energy consuming factor, heating is also regarded as the major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions when nearly half proportion of household gases is attributable to this kind of activity, including 32% by water heating. In contrast, refrigeration is responsible for 14% of gases, but this figure strikingly double the amount of energy use. The minimal sum of 11% greenhouse gases is caused by cooling and lighting, and the proportion contributed by other purposes accounts for 28%.
