The maps illustrate the main changes which have taken place in Youngsville in New Zealand between 1980 and 2005. Overall, the town has most notably shown an increase in accommodation and a reduction in green areas.
One change that stands out is that there has been a significant redevelopment over the 25-year period. To the north of the river Alanah, the trees were cut down to make way to tow parking and new sports facilities next to the hospital and lake. While in the south of the river there is a school and a factory of what was once two houses. The airport is located to the south-east of the town. Next to this, there was a woodland which is converted to factories.
In 1980, there was a small park opposite to the airport, but now it is turned to a warehouse and factory. The railway station still stands and has been extended along the coast. Skyscrapers have been built to the south-west of the sea while the stadium and a car park built in the north-west.
