The table and chart provide information about unemployment and owning a home in selected European countries.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

There are two graphs: the chart representing rates of home ownership and unemployment in 2015 across 9 European nations while the table reflects the desire to own a home in these nations over a 10-year period.

Regarding the percentage of home ownership, Italy and Belgium were home to the largest figures (73% and 72%, respectively). Following this were Sweden, France, UK and Denmark in the 60's. In comparison, the proportion of homeowners in Austria and Germany fall into the 50's while only 44% of residents in Switzerland owned a home, which was also the smallest figure. The trend shown in unemployment rate is mainly different, although Italy still topped the list at near 12% and Switzerland finished it at slightly above 3%. Around one tenth of French population were out of work, followed by Belgium (8%) and Sweden (7%). Other countries, aside for Denmark (at slightly above 6 percent), saw less than 6% of their population unemployed.

Moving onto the desire to have a home, this had declined in Switzerland (by 3 people), Austria and Germany (by 2 people) and Belgium (by 1) by 2015. By contrast, between 2005 and 2015, the figure remained unchanged in Denmark and Sweden while home-owning needs rose by 4 people in France, UK and most notably, by 5 people in Italy.

Overall, it is clear that the largest proportions of home ownership and unemployment and increment in the need to own accommodation could be found in Italy while the opposite were seen in Switzerland. Statistics for other countries positioned between these two extremes.
