The graph below shows the average time spent by four car manufactures to produce vehicles at their US factories.

The line graph compares the average number of hours taken to produce a car by four different companies in the USA from 1998 to 2005.
Overall, there was a reduction in the average time to produce a vehicle in all four manufactures throughout the period. whereas, General Motor reduced a car production time by more than the others.
From the highest figure of about 32 hours in 1998, General Motor declined remarkably the average amount of time to manufacture a car to 22 hours in 2005. By contrast, Ford just spent 28 hours on producing a car in 1998. Although there was a reaching a peak of about 32 hours in 2001, the car production time for Ford then dropped gradually to around 21 hours in 2005.
There was a same figure at the beginning of the period for Honda and Toyota in term of the average time to produce a car, at 22 hours in 1998. despite many minor fluctuations during the following years, these both companies finally finished at 22 hours in 2005.
