Students are more influenced by their teachers than by their friends.

Essay topics:

Students are more influenced by their teachers than by their friends.

When someone talks about a successful person we only discuss the hard work that man must have put in to be in such a place. We forget that there are many other factors that have equal if not more influence in his success i.e, his friends who motivated him, his teacher who showed me the right path, etc. However, when we consider influence, I personally feel friends have a bigger role than teachers. I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explore in the following essay.

To begin with, teachers interaction with the student is limited to only class hours. He is not involved in a child's everyday life compared to how much his friends are. Moreover, the student-teacher relationship is more formal than the relationship he has with his friends. He can't go to the professor and talk about anything which he can with his friends. My own experience is a compelling example of this. When I was in high school some 5 years ago, I went through a very difficult breakup because of which I went into depression and wasn't able to concentrate on my studies and scored poorly on my midterm exams. My then physics teacher called me into her office to discuss my poor grades but, I could not tell her what I was going through. Compared to which, I was completely comfortable to express my emotions in fronts of my best friend and because of that was finally able t overcome that period. Had I not opened up in front of my friends my situation would have gotten worse.

Furthermore, your friends belong to the same age group in which you are and because of that, they can understand your situation better. Sometimes there are some situations which are insignificant in front of an adult but have a big value in your life. Friends can understand this better. For instance, my older brother wanted to go on an adventure trip but when he asked his teacher for a leaving certificate from school she refused and said as I quote "studies are more important than this trip". Knowing his teacher's response my parents refused to fund his trip. However, my brother's friends combined all the little money they had and funded his trip. Now, he is a very successful adventure sports guide. His friends could see his passion for it which even his teacher could not.

In conclusion, even though teachers have a very big role in influencing students, but not as big as friends have.

---------------------
Better to have 5 paragraphs with 3 arguments. And try always support/against one side but compare two sides, like this:

para 1: introduction
para 2: reason 1. address both of the views presented for reason 1
para 3: reason 2. address both of the views presented for reason 2
para 4: reason 3. address both of the views presented for reason 3
para 5: conclusion.

So how to find out those reasons. There is a formula:

reasons == advantages or

reasons == disadvantages

for example, we can always apply 'save time', 'save/make money', 'find a job', 'make friends', 'get more information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.

or we can apply 'waste time', 'waste money', 'no job', 'make bad friends', 'get bad information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
