In my opinion the affection of teachers or friends when people are students, depend on many factor and it is not a completely predictable for all situation.
First, affection of friends or teacher depend on the character of that person. A person with a strong spirit try to select a way which help him for successful. Sure friends specially in the school age can affect each other in good way or bad way.
Second, teacher strategy. this is the most important factor that show teacher are more influenced on students or their friends.
Third, now days people, specially in school age are open relation by social net such as telegram, Skype, Facebook, Instagram and ... at these nets students chat with each other and speak about interesting issues which pleasur them
