Extra 1 - Integrated writing

The main idea of both the passage and the talk is about starting a new business whether independently or using the franchising method. In the text, the author provides three main advantages of using franchising strategy. The author challenges all the viable benefits and believes that none of them is possible.

Firstly, the author states that business owners are able to find a reliable suppliers of goods and services if they buy a franchise. Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that most of the franchising companies managers force small businesses to buy a high quality products which are very expensive. Thus, owners of small businesses will waste a tremendous amount of money to obtain their goods in compare to buying a goods which they individually want.

Moreover, the author asserts that by franchising method small businesses will save a lot of money on advertising. In the contrary, the speaker points out that new businesses should pay 6% of their sales to a franchise company. The mentioned percent is very huge, and new companies are able to advertise their companies with less than mentioned amount of money by their own and more efficiently. Besides, a franchise company does not advertise a small companies, and they only advertise its brands and products.

Eventually, the reading passage holds the opinion that new businesses will increase their security by using franchising method. The lecturer, on the other hand, says that the reading passage did not mentioned a most reliable issue which can be used by owners to enhance their security and that is buying a independent companies ownership. In this case, their chance to be successful in their business will be increased two times.
