Essay topics:

in many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team. having a team of people attack a project offers several advantages.

The article states that working as a team is more beneficial comparing to working individually, and it counts three main reasons for its decision. However, the lecturer completely disagrees with these reasons; he rejects all the ideas in the passage by giving an example of a company which monitored its team projects efficiency. The professors reasons are discribed in the following.

First, the reading claims that a "team" has a greater range of competencies comparing to each of the individuals in that team, wich will definitely be profitable for projects. However, The professors refutes this idea by stating that in teams, normally, some team members get a free ride and do not contribute in the team's tasks. This will gradually decrease the contribution of the members who work well insomuch as the recognition goes to the whole team and their efforts will overlooked.

Second, the authors states that teams come up with creative ideas, and a team can undertake these ideas more easily than individuals. However, the professors do not concede this statement inasmuch as he refers to the company in his example that the "consensus" was the main problem for them. They had to hold many meetings in order to move the project forward.

Third, the article agrees that team memebrs can suggest their own ideas and solutions which leads to their recognition by the whole team. Nevertheless, the lecturer opposes this idea. According to his example, since there are some influencers in projects, usually, the ideas of others will be ignored and droped by these influencers and even other contributors.
