TPO-02 - Integrated Writing Task In many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team. Having a team of people attack a project offers several advantages. First of all, a group of people

The lecture refutes the passage completely; he mentions that when a company gave a project to a team of members, they realized that in the reality after six months, the result of the team work was not as convincing as presented in the passage.

First, the speaker states that in the team work some members got free ride. There were many members in the group who did not work and still got recognition. On the other hand, members who had worked diligently did not get deserved credit for their work. So, they were quite upset with this unjust. Hence the lecturer says that not all group members benefited from the team work as suggested in the reading passage.

Second, the speaker rebuts the statement made in the reading that the work is done quickly by the team as compared to an individual. He points out that it in fact took longer as several meeting were done in order to reach to a conclusion.

Also, some influential members affected the decision of the group like if an idea is presented by a member which is not supported by the influential members then that idea was dropped. However, a bad decision was taken into consideration in spite of the opposition of few members of the group because the influential members supported it. This indeed resulted in the failure of the project. Though, many group members were not ion favor of the decision, everyone was blamed at the end. Therefore, it is not beneficial for everyone as indicated in the passage.
