TPO-04 - Integrated Writing Task Endotherms are animals such as modern birds and mammals that keep their body temperatures constant. For instance, humans are endotherms and maintain an internal temperature of 37°C, no matter whether the environment is wa

The article states that there are some evidences which prove that dinosaurs were Endotherms. Endotherm animals define as type of animals that are resistant to temperature fluctuations, and their body temperature is always constant. Like humans, birds, etc. The writer provides three reasons to support this thesis. However, the professor explains that these reasons are not proved by many scientists, and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First of all, the reading claims that finding a lot of dinosaur fossils in Polar Regions is one of the strong evidences. In polar areas, endotherms are the only types of animals that can stay alive because of temperature changes. The professor refutes this opinion by saying that the temperature of these areas were higher than today. Also, by decreasing the temperature dinosaurs hibernated or immigrated to a warmer region.
Secondly, the article posits that the position of the dinosaurs' legs is another reason. Why? Because legs under the body is a property for modern endotherms which give them the ability to run. However, the professor says that their legs' position has another reason. The legs under the body could support more weight, and can cause more growth. So, this leg position has more advantage.
Third, the reading says that all modern endotherms have structures named Haversian canals. These canals help animals to grow faster. Also, these canals were found in the dinosaurs’ body. This matter is another proof of this hypothesis. The professor opposes this point by explaining that analyzing the dinosaurs’ bones shows that their growth rings, rings in the dinosaurs' bones which shows their growth, are smaller in the cold periods, and they have no growth, or slow growth.
