The article discusses about the benefits of salvage logging both for the economy and the damaged forest and provides three examples to illustrate that. How ever, the professor contradict those statements and makes three reasons as the support.

Firstly the reading claims that after devastating fire, if the deed trees would not be removed, it would take many years for decomposition and During these years new trees could not grow in that place. But the professor refute that point by saying that the natural decomposition process will enrich the soil and provide a suitable environment for the next generation of the trees.

Second, the article asserts that the insect like the Spruce Bark Beetle will accumulate in where the decaying woods are. But the professor explains that these creatures are not harmful for the forest at all. Besides, the other contributors and inhabitants like the births can use those places as well.

Third, the reading states that the salvage logging has a huge impact on the economy. Nevertheless, the lecture opposes to that statement by pointing that the economical benefits of doing such thing is small and short span. Because many expensive tools and machines like helicopters will be needed to maintain that place. Also, the job which might be create for this aim are temporary and it needs hiring the people who are not local which costs a lot for training.
