Both the reading and the lecture are about methods for stopping spread of large animal The cane toad. The writer states three methods for destroy these animals in Australia and gives reasons for usability of these methods. However, the professor explains that there are problems with his methods. The professor states the methods of author more likely be unsuccessful and it will damage to nature.

First, the reading proposes national fence method. The professor refutes this point. He states it will not stop. He states stream water way will carry the eggs of these animals to other side.

Second, the author claims that the people can capture these toads and destroy their eggs. The professor says that this idea could be successful. However, untrained volunteer people can not identify whether the animals its frog or the toad. So, these people can kill some types of endangered frogs. He states this method is harmful for the environment.

Third, the writer states that virus can usable which is specially builded by scientists. The professor cats doubt onto this claim by stating it is a bad idea and it would have terrible consequences. He states, this special virus can be carried by scientist and collectors to home of the toads which is South America. So, this virus can kill toads even in their home. This is ecological disaster.
